Customer Reviews
Excellent product you must own!
Rating: 5
I own a number of USB flash drives now. As a result, I would say I am a fairly experienced reviewer. As far as USB Flash driver in the $30 price range go, I would rank the SanDisk Curzer Titanium as a sturdy and well make product. Speed is pretty darn good too.
Short and small transfers run as fast as 30 Mb/sec. Though, large file sustained transfers are a bit slower averaging about 8Mb/Sec. In comparison, the Crucial Gizmo Plus can transfer a CD ISO at an average rate of about 12Mb/Sec. It is not all about speed though. The Cruzer is a solid, sleek, and very convenient product while most USB flash drives are flimsy plastic and delicate. Of the three 4mb flash drives I currently use, the Sandisk Cruzer is the one that I take everywhere and use the most.
The only negative I can find with the Sandisk product is the U3 software system installed by default. If you are not familiar with it, the U3 software system is a auto-loading package that can run applications off your drive. I run Linux, so this did not bother me. Plus, once I downloaded the U3 removal software from SanDisk's website, I reclaimed my 6Mb without any issue.
In summary, the SandDisk Cruzer Titanium is a best of breed mix of style, form, performance, and function. Buy one now!
SanDisk 4 GB Cruzer Titanium USB Flash Drive with U3
Rating: 5
I received this item quickly from BlueProton, and so far I like it a lot. It works just like you would expect a flash drive to work, but since it also has the U3 software, all of your programs, documents, pictures, videos, and music can be accessed with ease. 4 GB is plenty of space, and I expected to pay a lot more than $25 for a flash drive with this much capacity. I needed the extra memory because I transfer large documents and pictures daily, and I didn't always want to run back and forth between the computers so I could get all the data on. The flash drive itself is somewhat heavy which is important to me so I don't accidently leave it in my pocket. The liquidmetal color is much better looking than the normal black plastic with the regular SanDisk Cruzers. The only problem I have with this item, is that it doesn't include a neck strap. This isn't a huge issue if you leave it plugged into your computer most of the time, but since I transfer documents and pictures between 3 computers on a regular basis, I really wish one was included. Because it doesn't come with a neck strap, I took the one off of my 1 GB Memorex flash drive and put it on the Cruzer; it is working very well so far.
I would recommend this flash drive to anybody looking for one with a large storage capacity on a budget!
Unexpected
Rating: 4
[[ASIN:B000N4Z4JK SanDisk 4 GB Cruzer Titanium USB Flash Drive with U3]] arrived in its Sandisk new wrapping (one of those air sealed that you can only open with a scissor or some cutting instrument). However, after spending days reading reviews of this product I found myself with unexpected features.
The silver frame surrounding the USB key is completely scratch NOT free. It is so evenly scratched EVERYWHERE so that it makes it look sturdy and slightly "cool." I think it was purposely done since the center (the cruzer titanium part) is absolutely scratch free. (It saved me work of scratching it with my keys which I will be carrying it with.)
Another surprise that I found is that it IS actually Windows Vista compatible.
All you need to do is open the folder and run U3 manually the first time and let the U3 know that your system does not automatically run the software. It will install a little software on your system allowing it to run it automatically every time. If Vista is not your own computer, then all you have to do is just manually start it to run U3 on the system. In short, I did not observe any of the discussed "incompatibility issues" with this device.
Lastly, as I had read in one of the reviews, it DOES NOT COME with a LANYARD, and it does NOT come with a Clip like described on the Blueproton website.
I will call tomorrow and argue for one, but for now I guess I am satisfied enough to keep it with me until I break it or I lose it.
I hope this helps if you are considering to purchase one like I was a couple days ago.
